The Arab Academy for Science and Technology's efforts to fulfill the SDG 17 requirements related to education for SDGs in the wider community are evident through its outreach programs, collaborations, and capacity building initiatives. “Towards Green and Sustainable Schools” Initiative

The Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) has made significant contributions in promoting the learning of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through its periodic section for the younger graduate school students in Alexandria, Egypt which started in September 2022. AASTMT recognizes the importance of incorporating the principles of sustainability and global development into the education system. By integrating SDGs into the curriculum, AASTMT provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the pressing challenges faced by our world today. Through the periodic section, AASTMT fosters awareness and knowledge among students regarding the SDGs, enabling them to become agents of change and contribute to the sustainable development of their communities. By engaging students in discussions, research projects, and practical activities related to the SDGs, AASTMT cultivates a sense of responsibility and empowers the future generation to address social, economic, and environmental issues. The institution's commitment to educating students about the SDGs not only equips them with the necessary skills and knowledge but also instills a sense of purpose and a drive to work towards a better and more sustainable future for Egypt and the world. AASTMT's contribution in this regard is instrumental in shaping the minds and actions of young graduates, preparing them to become leaders and catalysts for positive change in their respective fields and beyond.

IEEE YESIST12, 2022 Prelim "Youth Endeavors for Social Innovation Using Sustainable Technology"

The Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) played a pivotal role in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by hosting the IEEE YESIST12, 2022 Prelim event. Go Green Workshop

At AASTMT Smart Village Campus Within the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) social responsibility, and as part of the National Sustainable Development Strategy "Egypt 2030", as well as AASTMT initiative to raise the environmental awareness at AASTMT Campuses under the umbrella of the Egyptian Ministry of Environment campaign to plastic use abatement, AASTMT held a workshop that entitled “Go Green” on Monday 10- 1- 2022, at AASTMT Smart Village Campus, under the patronage of H.E Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghafar Ismail Farag - AASTMT President, and with the participation of a group of AASTMT Officials, Academic Staff members and Students from different campuses.

The Fourth Edition of the Arab Week for Sustainable Development

Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghafar Ismail Farag – President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) participated in the activities of the Fourth Edition of the Arab Week for Sustainable Development that was organized by the League of Arab States, the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development in Egypt, the United Nations, the European Union and the World Bank, during the period from 13 - 15 February 2022, under the theme "Together for Sustainable Recovery", as to probe ways of alleviating repercussions and negative impacts of coronavirus to help achieve sustainable development goals in Arab countries.
