AASTMT develops local, regional, national and global initiatives, plans and agreements to inform and support governments in developing clean energy policies and establishing energy efficiency plans to reduce energy consumption, divert to clean renewable energy and sustain serving the environment and community. One of the aspects covered by Green Energy and Energy Management Policy statement is “Community Engagement and Governments Support”.

“Community Engagement and Governments Support” aspect includes;
o Sustain Serving the Surrounding Community and the Environment towards clean energy.
o Inform and support governments in clean energy and energy-efficient technology policy development
o Preparing a specialized practical training in the field of energy management and renewable energy for serving the community needs.
o Carrying out consultant services in the field of energy management and environment.
In 2022/2023/2024, AASTMT participated in joint co-operations, summits, conferences, workshops and events at the national, regional and international side to develop policies, agreements and plans towards energy sustainability and green environment.

AASTMT has participated in (COPP28) which was held from the 30th of November – 12th of December 2023 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. A group of AAST professors have shared discussions on their research in one of the conference sessions on the 6th of Dec. with the theme: Towards a Green and Sustainable Future by integrating interdisciplinary Engineering Knowledge and Technology. |

(30/11/2023) Joint workshop between the Egyptian Ministry of International Cooperation and the United Nations |
As representative of universities and Research Centers, AAST participated in this workshop. The joint workshop between the Egyptian Ministry of International Cooperation and the UN was in light of their partnership for sustainable development 2023-2027. The workshop aimed on crystallizing ideas and project proposals related to technology and innovation in various fields of development, including electricity and renewable energy, agriculture, water resources and irrigation, as well as environment, communications and information technology. |

(22/8/2023) East Port-said Port Assembly
|
AASTMT President, attended the East Port-Said Port assembly which was organized by ministry of transport and Suez Canal Authority. In this assembly, AASTMT participated to discuss and set commitment contracts for new stations and the start of supplying ships with green fuel. These measures were taken by the government to green transformation which depends on replacing traditional fuel with clean energy as well as converting the pilotage stations located along the canal to operate with solar and wind energy. |

(12/10/2021) MoU between AASTMT and Housing and Building National Research Center (HBRC) |
The purpose of the MoU is to provide the general framework for cooperation between the parties governing collaborative efforts on deployment of Renewable Energy principals on a non-binding basis, some basic principles regarding the cooperation AASTMT and HBRC. Furthermore, foster applied research projects and curriculum and instruction development that are driven by challenges faced in the energy sector. The AASTMT is a part of the consortium of the Erasmus Plus “WESET” project “Wind Engineering Skills in Egypt and Tunisia”, Project Number: Project Number: 586039-EPP-1- 2017-1-ES-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP. The AASTMT and HBRC recognize the many benefits of an academic partnership in an increasingly interdependent world, and therefore, they hereby register their intentions to establish formal links between the Wind Energy Center built within the WESET project in the AASTMT and the HBRC.
