In 2023–2024, the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) promoted Sustainable Development Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by enhancing structured collaborations with NGOs and non-governmental partners to address the SDGs through student volunteering, collaborative research, and the co-creation of educational and training programs. In collaboration with organizations like Obyan, EPROM, the Strategic Women and Youth Institute, and the Afro-Asian Union, AASTMT merges community-driven priorities with its scientific and technological proficiency to provide capacity-building, outreach, and knowledge-exchange initiatives that facilitate the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These collaborations enhance student involvement in practical SDG initiatives, fortify grassroots networks, and produce SDG-focused educational resources and training programs, thereby advancing inclusive human capital development, fostering sustainable and innovation-driven solutions, and increasing the enduring impact of NGO-university partnerships throughout the region.

The program provides hands-on experience at a partner firm, combining practical learning with cross-cultural engagement. This collaboration enhances student skills, promotes professional development, and strengthens international academic-industry cooperation, preparing students to contribute effectively to their fields.
Through this strategic partnership with Edinburgh Commerce in the UK, AASTMT students in business management and related programs will participate in an international project management training program that exposes them to the full project lifecycle—from concept development to execution and delivery—while working alongside professionals from partner firms on real-world projects. The program also offers cultural immersion, site visits to leading companies, and extensive networking opportunities with executives, industry specialists, andproject management experts, strengthening students’ global outlook and soft skills. AAST Agreement with Obyan
AASTMT signed MoU with Obyan in August, 2023 to achieve the goal of Quality Education in Sustainable development. Based on this agreement, students of Artificial intelligence are eligible to participate in Research & development in renewable energy and green environment, join internship in Obyan, in the College of Artificial Intelligence collaborated with Obyan Company in their Graduation Project. Such Collaboration will support AASTMT roadmap for green environment
AASTMT signed an agreement with EPRO in May 2023. The agreement state to support the educational learning process with industrial best practices, the agreement enables the engineering college to join training opportunities in EPROM. EPROM- College of Engineering agreement target as well how to get advantages form academia role in SDG role to reduce the impact on environment. It plans awareness campaign to SDG support considering Egypt Vision toward (2030). Both sides will support the three dimension (Economical, Social and environmental) and support the project related to that vision to control its impact on climate change
The union is branched from The Afro-Asian Peoples' Solidarity Organization (AAPSO). The collaboration that was signed with Agro- Asian Union in March 2022, enables AAST students to enroll in joint training, workshops and organize joint conference that support suitable developments. The union will refer to AAST to enrich its experience with academia and to have joint campaigns and activities that support SDG.
AASTMT signed MoU with Strategic women and youth institute in February 2022, the agreement state to have joint programs that support suitable development and gender equality in leadership. The collaboration extended to include Seminars, workshops and case studies. For the next year of such collaboration, AASTMT maintains sustainable activities with Strategic women and youth to support its roadmap for achieving SDG

The Mediterranean area suffers from extremely high rates of youth and female unemployment. To face this challenge, GREENLAND promotes social inclusion and fight against poverty by providing unskilled and underprivileged young people with marketable skills in the Green and Circular Economy, with the potential to generate thousands of jobs. To reach its objective, the project will create new curricula based on market needs, skills transfer to NEETs and women, media-based training tools, and cultural exchanges among young people. This project is funded by ENI CBC MED Program.
