Humanities department acts as a foundation for the students to get oriented with the different courses which will help them in choosing which department to join. They can either enroll in Language and Translation department or Media department with its different tracks. There are several job opportunities available for CLC graduates from both departments. The graduates will be well-prepared to work as translators, interpreters, journalists, content creators, photographers, TV presenters, graphic designers, cinematographers, producers and art directors in different organizations and agencies.
The minimum requirements that must be met by all students wanting to join the College for undergraduate degree are: • Holder of High School Certificate or any equivalent. • Meeting the minimum score required to join the college which is announced before the beginning of each semester. • For Egyptian applicants, the student’s military conscription Status must be declared. • Sitting for the placement test is a must to enroll in all majors in the Arab Academy.
Students applying to the College of Language and Communication are required to score at least 25 points on their English Placement Test. Otherwise, students scoring less than 25 will be enrolled in the ESP02 LH130 English course instead of the core Introduction to Literary Texts course.
The Humanities Department is one of the four CLC Departments. It is the one that offers the introductory courses to all CLC students in the first two terms of their academic life. These courses furnish the necessary base required for any student seeking to establish a career in the fields of media, and language and translation.
