The Construction and Building Engineering Program Department is the most modified version of Civil Engineering Program that is the oldest and broadest of all engineering disciplines. Construction and Building Engineering is the stem from which most other branches of engineering have developed. Construction and Building engineering touches our lives in many ways, and on a daily basis. From the buildings we live and work in to the water we drink and air we breathe from the roads and bridges we drive on to the airports and seaports we use to transport people and goods all are products of the many facets of what civil engineers do. Because Construction and Building engineers are involved in every aspect of creating and maintaining our society’s infrastructure, educating the future generations of civil engineers is critical. The Construction and Building Engineering department at AASTMT has its mission deeply rooted in providing our students, the future Construction and Building engineers, with a quality and challenging education. This mission shapes everything we do. Our activities revolve around innovative teaching, professional practice, cutting-edge research, and community service. Every one of these activities is influenced by our desire to better serve our students. Our faculty members’ research activities and publications have been recently surging, and are increasingly helping—through knowledge sharing—our profession and nation. Our undergraduate and graduate students are avid participants and an integral part of the research that is performed at the Construction and Building Engineering Department. The Construction and Building Engineering department has grown tremendously over the past few years, and currently employs eleven full-time faculty members from several world-renowned universities in the United States and Canada. Our department currently offers a bachelor of engineering (B.Sc.) degree program in construction and building engineering. Master of Science (M.Sc.) in construction and building engineering. Our undergraduate enrollment stands at over 300 students, and our graduates work for a wide array of industrial and manufacturing firms structural, environmental, geotechnical and transportation design and consulting firms construction companies governments agencies and local municipalities. I encourage you to visit us to see first-hand all the excitement and opportunities our department has to offer.
