As part of supporting scientific research, the College of Arts and Design visited the National Research Center – Textile Research Division, reinforcing the integration between academic education and research application.
Our mission is to graduate highly competent students that have the skillset required to create their own opportunities along the life journey. this will be achieved by encouraging lateral thinking, whereby they can liberate their minds to develop artistic, yet practical, creative, and innovative solutions. Collaboration with industrial organizations will be our aim; building research based on our responsibility toward infusing the artistic component within industrial products. Our duty is to find varying relations for cooperation with industrial institutions and organizations and create an appropriate climate to effectively contribute to the research and development of these establishments.
In-order to maintain the International educational standards , the college of Art & Design has created several international networks, like Stockholm University of the Arts. Most recently, the college has established a collaboration with Cardiff Metropolitan University in Uk, further strengthening its international academic network.
The college is committed to strengthening its ties with the industry, one way to achieve that is by recruiting industry experts, vocational trainers, and practitioners as adjunct to transfer their knowledge to the college students. Add to this, the college has organised specialised training programmes in collaboration with ITI and NTI in Egypt across five disciplines: motion graphics, animation, fashion design sketching, 3D modelling, and furniture design. Furthermore, we expanded international engagement by offering summer training in Malaysia.
The College of Art & Design seeks to provide its students and researchers with the best possible learning environment by offering them state of the art facilities within its premises, all classrooms ,drawing studios, and laboratories are air conditioned and equipped with a data projector and a whiteboard. In addition, all facilities are accessible to people with disabilities, and all laboratories are equipped with first -aid kits. Film studio is highly well equipped along with Fashion studio is supported by all the essential machines. Most importantly, the college provides two specialised computer labs: a Mac-based lab dedicated for graphic designers, and a PC-based lab for interactive graphics.
