Since its establishment in 1972, AASTMT has recognized the importance of educational innovation and continuous development as a cornerstone of its mission.
The College of Art and Design represents a major addition to AASTMT’s undergraduate educational portfolio. It introduces Art and Design in an integrated manner through five distinct yet interconnected programmes: Industrial Design, Graphic Communication Design, Fashion Design, Interior and Furniture Design, and Film and Visual Art. These five disciplines have been carefully selected to address urgent market needs, ensuring that graduates are well-prepared to contribute to industry with creativity, innovation, and impact—unprecedented in the region.
The programmes offered by the College of Art and Design are validated by the Supreme Council of Egyptian Universities (SCU). Moreover, the College is proud that its programmes are also validated by Cardiff Metropolitan University (UK), guaranteeing that students graduate with internationally recognized qualifications. This dual recognition ensures that our graduates are equipped to excel both locally and globally.
The College adopts a dynamic and forward-looking approach, continuously seeking opportunities to collaborate with pioneering international universities and departments that lead the field of art and design education.
The main objective of the College is to achieve excellence in education through the effective implementation of continuous improvement, as well as the successful attainment and renewal of both local and international accreditations.
By adopting a multi-disciplinary approach, the College benefits from the expertise of distinguished faculty members across the College of Engineering, College of Media, and College of Business, located within the same campus. The number and quality of faculty members have significantly increased in recent years, with impactful research published in leading international journals forming a strong academic foundation for the College.
High admission standards, combined with a competitive scholarship system, attract outstanding students eager to achieve excellence. The continuous development of resources, laboratories, and facilities provides the infrastructure necessary for the College of Art and Design to grow and thrive.
The Industrial Advisory Committee has strongly encouraged AASTMT to expand into new areas of education in line with its role of supporting national industries. All five programmes of the College of Art and Design are prepared to fulfill this mission, particularly given their multi-disciplinary nature.
Looking to the future, the College of Art and Design will play a proactive role in shaping the concept of the art-serving industry in the region. It will do so not only through its innovative multi-disciplinary approach, but also by leveraging the strong base of knowledge, advanced facilities, research achievements, and expertise of AASTMT’s faculty members.
