What is CELTA and who is it for?

Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CELTA)
 is an introductory course designed for candidates who have little or no
previous English language teaching experience.It is also for teachers who
want to take their teaching English as a foreign language to a professional
level. It focuses on developing practical skills with face-to-face teaching
practice. CELTA is considered a solid foundation for teaching English as a
foreign language. The course is highly recognized by employers around the
world as a proof of rooted training, experience and basics for teachers. 

               

What are the requirements?

  • Candidates should be above 18 years old.
  • Candidates should have CEFR Level high C1 or above.
  • Candidates should be able to process the skills provided
    and able to complete the assignments and assessments.

    

  

What does the CELTA course consist of?

The CELTA course consists of 120 contact hours divided into:
  • Input sessions
  • 6 hours of Teaching Practice supervised by the main tutor
  • Supervised lesson planning and continuous feedback on teaching practice
  • Teaching to students of different levels and conducting peer observations
  • Four written assignments
  •
