The initiative of the AASTMT to reduce the use of single-use plastics within its premises is under the patronage of Her Excellency Dr. Yasmin Fouad, the Minister of Environment of the Arab Republic of Egypt. This initiative is part of the AASTMT environmental awareness campaign within its facilities, aligning with the Ministry of Environment's university campaign 'Go Green' to minimize the use of single-use plastics and promote sustainable development goals. The initiation took place through a virtual meeting given a speech of the Minister of Environment at the seminar organized by the AASTMT under the title 'Entrepreneurship in the Environmental Sector (Waste Management, Natural Reserves)' on the 5th anniversary of the establishment of the Entrepreneurship Center at the Academy. The seminar was attended by Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar, the President of the Academy, Dr. Ali Abu Senna, the Assistant Minister of Environment for Projects, Dr. Khaled Al-Fara, the Advisor to the Waste Management Regulatory Agency, and Ms. Huda Al-Shawadfi, the Assistant Minister of Environment for Environmental Tourism Affairs. Dr. Yasmin Fuad highlighted the efforts of the Ministry of Environment in qualifying and training young people. We were honored by the sponsorship of the President of the Republic for the initiative "Go Green," which is the first initiative of its kind that focuses on the environmental aspect. It aims to raise environmental awareness among citizens and youth, urging them to adopt positive behaviors towards their environment due to the importance of preserving the environment for the sustainability of natural resources.
