Participation of Prof. Dr. Amira Senbel in the annual celebration of the UNESCO Awards for Women in Science in Paris.

Prof. Dr. Amira Senbel, Dean of the college of Pharmacy at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport - Abu Qir Branch - participated in the annual celebration activities of UNESCO and the L’Oreal Foundation for the International Awards for Women in Science, which was held on May 28, 2024 in Paris. Her Excellency also participated in the dialogue session for the winners of the Women in Science Awards 2024, which was organized by UNESCO on May 29, 2024 on the sidelines of the annual celebration. The participation of Professor Dr. Amira Senbel in these activities comes in implementation of the support and directives of Professor Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag, President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, which aims to support and strengthen the bonds of cooperation between UNESCO and the Academy.

It is worth noting that Prof.Dr. Amira Senbel participated in the expert committees to review applicants for this year’s UNESCO International Women in Science Awards, and she was a winner of the UNESCO L’Oréal Fellowship for Women in Science for Arab Countries in 2013. Her Excellency was invited by the Director-General of UNESCO and the Director of the L'Oréal Foundation to participate in this year's awards events.

Prof. Dr. Amira Senbel stressed the importance of these events in enhancing the role of women in science and exchanging experiences with scientists and experts from various parts of the world. She added that her participation reflects the Academy’s commitment to supporting scientific and research excellence, and the prominent role of women in achieving sustainable development and innovation in countries of the world, especially in the Arab region.
