Supply chain management is one of the most promising areas of applied business science, with an understanding of supply chain management including all activities involved in transferring goods from their raw state to their ultimate state. The supply chain is sometimes known as a value chain since the emphasis is on value generation at all stages and waste disposal. The innovation of supply chain management is how to connect resource choices, material sourcing, production scheduling and planning, incoming logistics, material supply, material handling, storage, physical distribution, external logistics, and retail with a client-centric emphasis. Supply chain management integrates manufacturing, transportation, storage, and inventory scheduling models to provide management choices that enhance the whole supply chain.
