Arab Union for Sustainable Development and Environment Delegation at AASTMT:

On August 23, 2023, Professor Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag, President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), hosted a delegation from the Arab Union for Sustainable Development and Environment at the Academy’s headquarters in Abu Qir. The meeting brought together senior officials from both AASTMT and the Union to discuss collaboration on research and training focused on environmental conservation and sustainable development in the Arab region, aligning with the principles of SDG 15. The Arab Union, an international non-governmental organization operating under the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, emphasized the importance of joint Arab action in promoting biodiversity conservation and ecosystem management.

Arab Day for Disaster Risk Reduction Celebration:

Within the framework of celebrating the Arab Day for Disaster Risk Reduction in 2024, the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), in cooperation with the Department of Housing, Water Resources and Disaster Risk Reduction in the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, organized an Arab workshop under the slogan “Arab Infrastructure Resilient and able to face disasters. AASTMT President participation in an international workshop on “the impact of climate change on coastal cities”

His Excellency Professor Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag - President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) participated in an international workshop entitled “The Impact of Climate Change on Coastal Cities.” The workshop was held on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at the Library of Alexandria, in the presence of a group of experts and specialists, and a group of academy officials. During the workshop activities, some topics were discussed that will be addressed at the United Nations Ocean Conference scheduled to be held in Nice, France, in 2025. In addition to discussions related to the Academy’s role in change and flexibility in responding to global challenges, the Academy participated in more than 20 funded projects. Internationally.
