The Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport said that it is working on developing the solid waste management system in the Arab Republic of Egypt over four years (2019-2023), noting that it participated with the relevant ministries in establishing the infrastructure for the new waste system and trained cadres and qualified workers in Egypt's governorates to operate, manage and monitor the new system in all its stages from collection, transportation, treatment and even safe disposal of waste. It added in a statement that it contributed radically to localizing global systems and modern technologies in the field of waste management, as it spread awareness among decision-makers working in various state agencies on the best global strategies for managing waste of all kinds (domestic, agricultural, industrial and hazardous) with the aim of directing the Egyptian state's plans towards the optimal direction for integrated waste management and achieving the best financial return from the Egyptian government's investments in this field.
