Dr. Ismail Abdelghaffar, President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport, participated in the opening of the "Fifth Arab Water Conference," which commenced today in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and will span over two days. The conference's theme is "Sustainable Development in the Arab Region - Goal Six: Challenges and Opportunities," aiming to discuss a future vision for achieving sustainable water security in the Arab world and adopting an inspiring roadmap for sustainable Arab water security.
Discussions revolved around implementing the executive plan of the Water Security Strategy, as well as President of the Arab Academy's involvement in the fifteenth session of the "Arab Ministerial Council for Water." Key topics included discussing measures to implement the executive plan of the Water Security Strategy in the Arab region to address future challenges and requirements for sustainable development. Additionally, there was a focus on monitoring the Sustainable Development 2030 plan concerning the water sector in the Arab region and enhancing Arab cooperation in utilizing shared water resources.
