Program Description

Information system is defined as the bridge between the business world and computer science. An information system is not only the technology an organization uses, but also how the technology works with the organization's business processes.

Learning Outcomes

  • Student outcomes for the Information Systems program were adopted starting Fall 2019/2020 taking into account latest ABET recommendations. The outcomes state that graduates of the program will have an ability to:
    (SO1) Analyze a complex computing problem and to apply principles of computing and other relevant disciplines to identify solutions.
    (SO2) Design, implement and evaluate a computing-based solution to meet a given set of computing requirements in the context of program’s discipline.
    (SO3) Communicate effectively in a variety of professional contexts.
    (SO4) Recognize professional responsibilities and make informed judgements in computing practice based on legal and ethical principles.
    (SO5) Function effectively as a member or leader of a team engaged in activities appropriate to the program’s discipline.
    (SO6) Support the delivery, use, and management of information systems within an information systems environment.
