The purpose of Establishing the RMSI
- To comply All port facilities in Egypt and Arab countries with the international ships and port facilities security code (ISPS Code) requirements.
- To develop the security plans for ships and port facilities according to the requirements of the international ships and port facilities security code (ISPS Code).
- To conduct security exercises, drills, and audits onboard ships and in port facilities according to the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, (STCW 78) & amendments in 2017 and the International Ships and Port Facilities Security Code (ISPS Code).
- To conduct the IMO-validated courses in the field of Maritime Security according to the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, 1978 (STCW 78) ) & Manilla’s Amendments 2010 and the International Ships and Port Facilities Security Code (ISPS Code).
- To conduct other tailored Maritime Security courses to meet the special requirements for seafarers and port facilities personnel.
