وصف البرنامج

The vision of the PhD program is to provide a high quality research in fields of electrical and control engineering leading to graduate PhD holders capable of formulating and solving research problems through innovative solutions. With electrification projects forging ahead in developing countries and peak demand forecast doubling every ten years, projects of super grids emerged to link all Arab nations from Iraq in the east to Morocco in the west and across the continent from North Africa to South Africa with eventual interconnection with Europe. Consequently, there is a pressing need for experts in research areas of generation, transmission, distribution, and utilization of electrical power. On the other side, the fast development of sensors, actuators, Programmable logic controllers, Discrete control systems, power electronic devices and electric drive systems together with the rising need for highly complicated automatic control systems in military, industrial, commercial and electrical power systems areas raised in turn the need of control systems and electric drives research experts.

نتائج التعلم

  • The objectives of the Ph.D. program in Electrical and Control Engineering is to provide in-depth training to students in the modern electrical and control engineering and in the conduct of original research leading to a doctoral dissertation. The primary goal of the program is to provide students with an opportunity to contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field of electrical and control engineering. The program caters to demands of industry and research institutes and places a strong emphasis on original thinking, professional behavior and ethical conduct.

مختصر

The student must attend and pass 6 courses (18 credit-hours) from the Ph.D. courses (level EC8xx) consisting of 2 compulsory courses and 4 elective courses (Maximum two courses of the electives can be chosen from EC7xx level given that they were not previously studied and the rest from EC8xx level. This is in addition to a thesis (30 credit-hours)..

يجب أن يكون المتقدم حاصلاً على درجة الماجستير في أحد التخصصات الهندسية من إحدى الجامعات المعتمدة من المجلس الأعلى المصري الجامعات بالاضافه لأن يجتاز المتقدم المقابلة الشخصية التي يجريها القسم.
