• is course aims at continuing the chronological overview of ancient Egyptian history started in EGPT 301. The course will take the students from the beginning of the 18th dynasty to the end of the dynastic period (4th century BCE). The students will learn to use literary, documentary and archaeological sources to reconstruct ancient Egyptian history, criticize historiographic reconstructions and formulate their own hypotheses. The first part of the course will also introduce the students to ancient Egyptian chronology, illustrating the methodology employed in the most recent studies. The last part of the course will reflect on the Third Intermediate and the Late Periods, where Egypt underwent significative change following a series of foreign dominations..
