The Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport is one of the specialized organizations of The League of Arab States whose member-states are participants in the AASTMT. Since its establishment in 1972, the Academy has been involved in the various fields of education, training, scientific research and community service. Being a multi-purpose, multi-task institution, the Academy basically offers its services to students from the entire Arab world, as well as those from African countries. The studying system in the Academy is working according to the credit hours system which allows maximum interaction between the lecturer and the student. The preparation of the Academy has provided the latest laboratories and modern teaching methods to qualify its students to keep abreast of the global development in various fields of technology, which represents the mission of the Academy to provide graduates with the highest level of competence and experience that needed in the different labor markets.

The buildings of college are fully equipped according to the updated international systems in terms of laboratories, studios and audiovisual teaching aids that serve the students of different faculties and qualify them according to the needs of the labor market. The academy has an integrated complex for training students and specialists in various fields of maritime transport as well as training vessel "Aida 4" (floating academy), which is equipped with educational classes and various training tools to contribute effectively in the implementation of training programs for students of the College of Maritime Transport & Technology. The Academy is one of the first universities that has a planetarium which was established for various educational purposes as well as to serve the students of the College of Maritime Transport & Technology in the study of astronomy and its applications in the field of maritime navigation.
