About This Assessment
The AASTMT Sustainability Awareness and Literacy Tool-Students (SALT-students) is an institution-wide diagnostic instrument designed to measure each student's understanding of sustainability across all three pillars Environmental, Social, and Economic as well as Governance dimensions, as framed by the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
This instrument is modelled on the UN SDGs and has been contextualized to AASTMT's academic mission, the Arab region, and the maritime, engineering, and environmental disciplines central to the Academy's identity.
All undergraduate and postgraduate students are required to complete this assessment at least once during their programme. Results are used exclusively for institutional planning, SDG integration tracking, and AASTMT s Sustainability report. Individual scores are confidential.
