AASTMT
The Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) firmly upholds the principles of good governance as a foundation for achieving its institutional mission and contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—particularly SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions. AASTMT’s governance model is rooted in transparency, accountability, inclusive participation, and continuous institutional development.
In pursuit of these principles, AASTMT aligns its internal governance structure with national higher education priorities through its active commitment to the Supreme Education Council Agenda. The AASTMT Executive Board, together with specialized governance bodies such as the Supreme Education Council, plays a pivotal role in shaping strategic direction, promoting ethical leadership, and cultivating a culture of quality, innovation, and sustainability across all academic and administrative levels.
To reinforce transparency and stakeholder engagement, AASTMT ensures that key institutional decisions are documented, reviewed, and made publicly accessible. This includes the regular publication of governance meeting minutes, a recognized global benchmark for good institutional governance. These records provide insight into leadership attendance, agenda topics, and major action points—without compromising confidentiality, thereby promoting openness and trust among stakeholders.
