Stone is the most common used material across history and so this stone will focus on the conservation of objects, buildings, and architectural features. The course will analyse the different deterioration factors such as climate change, pollution, chemical and biological contamination. The syllabus will focus the inappropriate past treatments and how these can be treated in buildings and objects. The course will focus on practicing conservation through understanding the procedure of decay through several analytical examinations. Students will focus on pollution’s effect on the future sustainability of stone monuments, artefacts, and buildings. The course provides the students with the various restoration and conservation methods used in the restoration and conservation of the stones, from the various stages of cleaning to the museum display or archaeological storage..
