الأهداف

  • is course will discuss the development of science and technology in Ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia, Greece, Rome, and China. The philosophy of this course is to teach students how each culture absorbs the science and technology from its predecessor, develop it and pass it along to the following culture. The course will also analyse the contribution of the Arabic culture to Science and Technology. The study will focus on time-telling, astronomy, architecture, construction, metallurgy, water management and agriculture. It will also explore the origins of chemistry, physics, mummification, mathematics, and medicine in these societies. It will also expose the students to the history of philosophy, psychology, sociology, economics, and anthropology that lead to today's formation of these disciplines. The course will have a practical part, where students will work on laboratory experiments, visit sites, and quarry areas..
