• Program Objectives The Master of Science (M.Sc) in Information Systems is a research-oriented degree that can be counted toward the information systems PhD .It focuses on integrating information technology solutions and business processes to meet the information needs of businesses and other enterprises, enabling them to achieve their objectives in an effective and efficient way. This discipline’s perspective on information technology emphasizes information, and views technology as an instrument for generating, processing, and distributing information. Professionals in the discipline are primarily concerned with the information that computer systems can provide to aid an enterprise in defining and achieving its goals, and the processes that an enterprise can implement or improve using information technology. They must understand both technical and organizational factors, and they must be able to help an organization determine how information and technology-enabled business processes can provide a competitive advantage. The general objectives of the Master of Science in IS are to produce graduates who are able to: 1. Plan and conduct original research that addresses questions of significance in a particular subject area in information systems. 2. Analyze and be able to articulate the scientific advances and limitations of results described in the research literature. 3. Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate research proposals and results. 4. Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of a particular subject area and broad knowledge of other areas in Computer Science. 5. Demonstrate an understanding of and ability to follow ethical standards in research, teaching, and professional service.
