Program Description

The MSc program offers a general track as well as five specialized tracks: (1) Construction Engineering and Management (2) Environmental Engineering (3) Structural Engineering (4) Transportation Engineering (5) Water Resources and Coastal Engineering The student can either follow a general track or one of the abovementioned five specialized tracks to consecutively obtain the following degrees: 1. Fundamental Diploma in Construction and Building Engineering 2. Advanced Diploma in Construction and Building Engineering 3. MSc in Construction and Building Engineering

Learning Outcomes

The program outcomes include: • Detailed knowledge in recent academic and professional practices in Construction and Building Engineering. • Increasing the awareness about the local and global context in which Construction and Building Engineering is practiced. • An ability to solve Construction and Building Engineering problems, think critically, function well in a team, and communicate effectively. • A high standard of written and oral communication on technical matters.

Markets and Career

A civil engineering masters degree prepares graduataes for work in the construction industry as well as in the business, management, and financial sectors.

Brief

The Master of Science (MSc) Degree in Construction and Building Engineering prepares engineering graduate students for higher level academic and professional practice in Construction and Building Engineering. It is intended for all construction and civil engineers from different disciplines working in construction projects who wish to master the Construction and Building Engineering discipline. The program is divided into three incremental steps that allow the student to gauge his/her achievements. Categorized into three main achievements: (a) passing the Fundamental Diploma in the research field of interest. (b) achieving an Advanced Diploma in the research field of interest.
