The master of science program in Mechanical engineering offers high quality education that prepares students for advanced academic research and professional careers in one of the following specializations: Energy and Power, Refrigeration and Air conditioning, Applied Mechanics, Automotive and Mechatronics. Mechanical engineering design is the backbone of the program, where graduates obtain knowledge of design procedures in a multitude of fields such as design of thermal equipment, rotating machinery, mechatronics and materials. The program consists of core courses, elective courses, and master thesis. Only four elective courses are required for each student.
Applicants to the Master of Science program must hold an undergraduate Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a university or college accredited by the SCU. An admission test is organized by the Department for students applying to study for the Master of Science in Engineering. If the applicant does not pass this admission test, the department council can require the applicant to study qualifying courses before starting the program. The applicant is required to pass these courses with a GPA of not less than 3.00 to be enrolled for study.
