Program Description

The Media Management programme focuses on developing practitioners who are familiar with the business of media. The program is designed to combine management and media aspects. The students will learn during the program how to manage a project, prepare budgets, manage human resources and set plans. As well, as learning practical skills for content creation, production and editing for different types of media such as TV, Radio, Social Media, Documentaries, Ads and Public Relations.

Learning Outcomes

  • 1. To stimulate the students’ critical analytical skills to look at the challenges affecting the media industry from different perspectives, and to develop their ability to research, evaluate, and synthesise information enabling them to develop solutions to problems using appropriate methods.
    2. To develop the students’ understanding of media management through deploying an interdisciplinary methodology that combines both theoretical and practical approaches to provide students with sector-specific knowledge as well as hands-on-experience opportunities to develop their intellectual and professional competencies.
    3. To cultivate the students’ creative abilities to conceptualize, design, and produce different media products and communicate for a target audience using appropriate media channels.
    4. To improve the students’ professional and creative skills that will enable them to develop and understanding of the value creation process throughout the pre-production, production, and post-production stages in the development of different media types.

The Media Management programme focuses on developing practitioners who are familiar with the business of media. The program is designed to combine management and media aspects. As well, as learning practical skills for content creation, production and editing for different types of media such as TV, Radio, Social Media, Documentaries, Ads and Public Relations. throughout the program students develop their understanding of management functions (i.e. production, marketing, human resources, finance and operations) and will have practical hands-on-experience in radio, television, film, print, audiovisual, broadcasting and advertising. By the end of the program, students will be able to demonstrate analytical and creative thinking, knowledge and practical capabilities to develop innovative media management solutions..
