This course comprises an introduction, alkanes, alkenes, alkynes, halogenated hydrocarbons, alcohols, thioalcohols, phenols, aldehydes and ketones. The students are exposed to the chemistry and properties of these classes of compounds, name and type of reactions involved in their synthesis and reactions as well as some relevant mechanisms.
