Description

This course introduces the principles and practices of comprehensive planning and operations management. It covers the integration of strategic, tactical, and operational planning to support the effective implementation and management of organizational activities and projects. Topics include planning processes, resource allocation, scheduling, workflow management, capacity planning, performance measurement, quality management, risk management, and continuous improvement. The course emphasizes coordination between planning and operational functions to improve efficiency, productivity, flexibility, and organizational performance. By the end of the course, students will be able to: Explain the fundamental principles and processes of comprehensive planning and operations management. Develop integrated strategic, tactical, and operational plans. Analyze organizational processes and identify opportunities for improving operational efficiency. Apply basic methods for resource allocation, scheduling, and capacity planning. Evaluate operational performance using appropriate indicators and performance measures. Identify operational risks and develop suitable management and mitigation strategies. Apply quality management and continuous improvement approaches to operational processes. Develop integrated solutions for planning and managing real-world organizational and operational challenges.
