This course introduces the principles and practices of supply chain and logistics management. It covers the planning, coordination, and management of the flow of goods, services, information, and resources from suppliers to final customers. Topics include procurement, inventory management, transportation, warehousing, distribution, demand planning, supplier relationships, logistics networks, and performance measurement. The course also examines supply chain risk management, sustainability, resilience, digitalization, and the use of modern technologies to improve efficiency and responsiveness. By the end of the course, students will be able to: Explain the fundamental concepts and components of supply chain and logistics management. Analyze the flow of materials, information, and resources across a supply chain. Apply basic principles of procurement, inventory, transportation, and warehouse management. Evaluate factors affecting supply chain efficiency, cost, responsiveness, and performance. Identify and assess potential risks and disruptions within supply chains. Analyze the role of digital technologies and information systems in modern logistics. Develop strategies for improving supply chain integration, efficiency, sustainability, and resilience. Apply supply chain and logistics management concepts to real-world business and transportation scenarios.
