Topics include port governance, maritime contracts, liability, cargo claims, safety and security regulations, environmental protection, labor regulations, and dispute resolution. The course also introduces relevant international conventions and legal frameworks that influence port operations and management. By the end of the course, students will be able to: Explain the main legal principles and regulatory frameworks relevant to port management. Identify the legal roles, responsibilities, and obligations of key port and maritime stakeholders. Analyze legal issues related to port operations, commercial activities, safety, security, and environmental protection. Assess potential legal risks and liabilities associated with port management. To develop students’ understanding of the legal responsibilities and liabilities of port authorities, terminal operators, shipowners, cargo owners, and other stakeholders. To examine legal issues related to port operations, safety, security, environmental protection, labor, and commercial activities. To develop students’ ability to identify and analyze legal risks and challenges associated with port management. To enable students to apply relevant legal principles to practical issues and decision-making in port operations and management.
