The course also examines the role of digitalization, automation, and modern logistics systems in improving cargo-handling efficiency and port performance. By the end of the course, students will be able to: Explain the fundamental principles and processes of cargo-handling operations. Identify and classify the main types of cargo and their handling requirements. Describe the equipment and technologies used in cargo-handling operations. Analyze the processes involved in loading, unloading, storage, and movement of cargo. Apply basic planning and resource-allocation methods to cargo-handling operations. Evaluate factors affecting productivity, efficiency, safety, and operational performance. Assess the role of automation, digitalization, and modern technologies in cargo management. Propose strategies for improving the efficiency, safety, and sustainability of cargo-handling operations.
