This course examines the principles and practices of port facilities utilization and management. The course explores capacity planning, facility utilization, congestion management, resource allocation, productivity measurement, and operational efficiency. Particular emphasis is placed on the use of modern technologies, automation, digitalization, and data-driven approaches to optimize port facilities and improve port performance. By the end of the course, students will be able to: Explain the main types and functions of port facilities and infrastructure. Analyze the utilization and capacity of port facilities and operational resources. Identify factors affecting port productivity, congestion, and operational efficiency. Apply basic methods for planning and allocating port facilities. Evaluate strategies for improving the utilization and performance of port infrastructure.
