Port Operation Management

Description

This course provides an overview of the principles and practices of port operations management. It covers the organization and management of port activities, including vessel arrival and departure, berth allocation, cargo handling, terminal operations, storage, equipment management, and port logistics. The course also examines operational planning, resource allocation, productivity, safety, security, environmental management, and performance measurement. Particular emphasis is placed on smart ports, digitalization, automation, and sustainable practices for improving the efficiency and competitiveness of modern ports. By the end of the course, students will be able to: Explain the fundamental principles and processes of port operations management. Describe the main activities involved in vessel, cargo, and terminal operations. Analyze port logistics and resource allocation processes. Evaluate factors affecting port productivity and operational efficiency. Apply basic planning and management approaches to port operations.
