Description

This course introduces the principles and practices of fleet operation and management within the maritime industry. It covers key aspects of ship and fleet operations, including voyage planning, vessel scheduling, fuel and energy management, maintenance planning, crew management, cargo operations, safety, and regulatory compliance. The course also examines operational costs, performance monitoring, risk management, environmental sustainability, and the use of digital technologies in modern fleet management. By the end of the course, students will be able to: Explain the fundamental principles of fleet operation and management. Describe the main activities involved in the planning and operation of maritime fleets. Analyze factors affecting vessel scheduling, voyage planning, and operational efficiency. Evaluate the importance of maintenance, crew management, and safety in fleet operations. Assess operational costs and performance indicators.
