Research Methodology and Ethics

Description

This course introduces the fundamental principles and practices of research methodology and ethics. It covers the main stages of the research process, including identifying research problems, reviewing relevant literature, formulating research questions and hypotheses, selecting appropriate research designs and methodologies, collecting and analyzing data, and interpreting and communicating research findings. The course also emphasizes research ethics, academic integrity, plagiarism prevention, responsible data management, authorship, and ethical considerations in conducting scientific research. By the end of the course, students will be able to: Identify and formulate appropriate research problems, questions, objectives, and hypotheses. Conduct effective literature reviews and use relevant academic and scientific sources. Select appropriate qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-methods research approaches. Design a scientifically sound research study. Apply suitable methods for data collection, analysis, and interpretation. Demonstrate awareness of research ethics and responsible research conduct. Apply principles of academic integrity and recognize plagiarism and other forms of research misconduct. Prepare and communicate a structured research proposal or scientific report.

To promote awareness of research ethics, academic integrity, responsible conduct of research, and data management. To enable students to develop scientifically sound and ethically responsible research proposals and projects.
