Description

This course examines the principles, strategies, and practices of climate change management. It explores the impacts and risks of climate change on ecosystems, natural resources, communities, infrastructure, and economic activities. The course covers key approaches to climate change mitigation, including greenhouse gas emission reduction, renewable energy, energy efficiency, and low-carbon development, as well as adaptation strategies aimed at reducing vulnerability and enhancing resilience. Topics also include climate policy, governance, international agreements, climate risk assessment, adaptation planning, monitoring, and sustainable development. By the end of the course, students will be able to: Explain the main principles and approaches of climate change management. Analyze the environmental, social, and economic risks associated with climate change. Differentiate between climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies. Assess climate vulnerability and identify appropriate adaptation measures. Evaluate strategies for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and supporting low-carbon development. Analyze the role of climate policies, governance, and international cooperation. Develop basic climate change management and adaptation plans. Propose sustainable and climate-resilient solutions for addressing climate-related challenges.
