Strategic Planning and Project Management

Description

This course introduces the fundamental principles and practices of strategic planning and project management. It covers strategic analysis, vision and mission development, goal setting, decision-making, action planning, and performance monitoring. The course also examines the main stages of the project life cycle, including project initiation, planning, implementation, monitoring, control, and evaluation. Key topics include project scope, scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, risk management, quality management, stakeholder engagement, and project communication. Emphasis is placed on applying strategic and project management tools to support sustainable and successful projects. By the end of the course, students will be able to: Explain the fundamental principles and processes of strategic planning and project management. Conduct basic strategic analyses and formulate clear goals and objectives. Develop strategic and operational action plans. Define project scope, objectives, activities, timelines, and required resources. Prepare basic project schedules and budgets. Identify and assess project risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies. Apply monitoring and evaluation approaches to assess project performance. Manage stakeholders and communication throughout the project life cycle. Apply strategic planning and project management tools to real-world projects, including those related to the Blue Economy and sustainable development.

• To provide students with a fundamental understanding of strategic planning and its importance in organizational and project success. To introduce the principles, processes, and tools used in strategic planning and project management. To develop students’ ability to formulate strategic goals, objectives, priorities, and action plans. To develop knowledge and practical skills in project planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. To examine key project management areas, including scope, time, cost, quality, risk, resources, and stakeholder management. To enable students to apply strategic and project management approaches to projects related to the Blue Economy and sustainable development.
