The course explores emerging opportunities related to technological innovation, digitalization, automation, smart shipping, green ports, and sustainable maritime development. It also addresses major challenges such as environmental regulations, greenhouse gas emissions, energy transition, operational risks, supply-chain disruptions, and workforce development. By the end of the course, students will be able to: Explain the structure and importance of the shipping and marine industry. Identify major sectors, stakeholders, and emerging opportunities within the maritime industry. Analyze economic, technological, environmental, and operational challenges affecting the sector.
