Thesis: Research Topic Registration and Initial Research Work

Description

This course provides students with the foundation for initiating their master's thesis research. Students will identify and register a suitable research topic, define the research problem, formulate research questions and objectives, and conduct an initial review of relevant literature. The course also covers the development of a preliminary research methodology, research plan, and timeline. Emphasis is placed on academic integrity, research ethics, and effective communication with academic supervisors. By the end of the course, students will be able to: Identify and justify an appropriate thesis research topic. Formulate a clear research problem, questions, and objectives. Conduct an initial literature review using relevant academic sources. Develop a preliminary research methodology and research plan. Apply appropriate principles of research ethics and academic integrity. Prepare and present a structured thesis proposal or initial research report. Demonstrate readiness to proceed with the subsequent stages of thesis research and development.
