Description

This course introduces the fundamental principles and practices of research methodology and research ethics. It covers the stages of the research process, including identifying research problems, reviewing relevant literature, formulating research questions and hypotheses, selecting appropriate research designs and methods, collecting and analyzing data, and interpreting and communicating research findings. The course also emphasizes the principles of research ethics, academic integrity, plagiarism prevention, responsible data management, authorship, and ethical considerations in conducting scientific research. By the end of the course, students will be able to: Identify and formulate appropriate research problems, questions, objectives, and hypotheses. Select suitable qualitative, quantitative, or mixed research methodologies. Design a scientifically sound research study. Conduct effective literature reviews and use appropriate academic sources. Apply suitable methods for data collection, analysis, and interpretation. Demonstrate ethical awareness and apply principles of academic integrity and responsible research conduct. Recognize and avoid plagiarism and other forms of research misconduct. Prepare and communicate a structured research proposal or scientific report.
