This course introduces the fundamental principles of heat transfer and their applications in engineering systems. The three basic modes of heat transfer—conduction, convection, and radiation—are studied in detail. Topics include steady and unsteady heat conduction, extended surfaces, forced and natural convection, heat exchangers, and radiation exchange between surfaces.
