Description

This course provides hands-on experience creating software for Microsoft's .NET using the Visual Studio development environment. Starting with the most fundamental elements of computer programming, the training evolves to leverage development techniques sufficient to produce a complete web application including the user interface, business logic and data access layers. Students will learn how to write code using C# and create ASP.NET Web applications and process Web forms and build SQL Server databases and access them using ADO.NET.

Objectives

  • 1. Understand the difference between desktop and dynamic web applications.
    2. Understand the ASP.NET web application execution model.
    3. Understand web application configuration and demonstrate the ability to manage basic configuration issues.
    4. Create and modify multi-page Web Form applications that involve and demonstrate features such as flow control, the use of style sheets, state management, data access, data binding, security, and data verification and validation.
    5. Define and describe what a web service is and how web services are used.
    6. Create and modify simple web services.
    7. Create desktop and web applications that consume simple web services.
