On completion of this course, student will be able to: 1. Identify the effects of information systems and the concept of business cooperation and their relation to globalization 2. Identify business processes and their relationship to information systems. 3. Analyze different types of information systems. 4. Formulate different strategies to that are useful for problem solving and system implementation 5. Measure application performance of information systems function in business. 6. Distinguish between the role of public e-commerce and the role of trade in business management. 7. Develop oral, written and technology-supported communication skills. 8.Adopt leadership skills and teamwork in different cultures in the national and international commuity. P2: Apply innovative solutions to implement decision support systems at various levels of business management (PLOs 2.2)

Objectives

  • This course aims to introduce information systems for business and management. It’s designed to familiarize students with the organization and managerial foundations of systems, the technical foundations for understanding information systems, the role of information systems in enhancing business processes and management decision making across the enterprise, and the process of building and managing systems in organizations. The course will provide the latest information systems trends implemented by organizations nowadays, to support their business value, functions, and processes, and how can organizations rely on data and information from various sources to make better decisions and gain a competitive advantage. E-business and E-commerce concepts and types will be introduced to enhance student’s awareness about how organizations and people handle their daily needs and business request through the internet. Business Intelligence with its details will be provided to students, to show them how organization rely on different software to help in information analysis.
