The importance of operations management has increased dramatically in recent years. Fierce global competition, shorter product and service life-cycles, better educated quality-conscious consumers, and the capabilities of new and emerging technologies have placed increasing pressures on the operations function to improve productivity while providing a broader array of quality products and services. This course examines problems encountered in planning, operating, and controlling production of goods and services.
