Description
The course introduces students to the essential therapeutic
knowledge, principles and concepts needed for providing
pharmaceutical care to patients suffering from hepatic
disorders including viral hepatitis, pancreatitis, gastrointestinal
bleeding, peptic ulcer, gastro-esophageal reflux disease,
inflammatory bowel diseases and irritable bowel syndrome as
well as gastrointestinal symptoms including nausea, vomiting,
constipation, and diarrhea. Emphasis will be placed on
integrating epidemiology, etiology, pathophysiology, treatment
options & guidelines and disease state management.
