Description

This course introduces students to investment projects, their major types and the public and private sector projects. It states the concept of project evaluation. In addition, it addresses national and sectoral planning and individual projects, project preparation and evaluation. It tackles basic information needed for project evaluation, evaluation of an investment project. Topics include employment effect, distribution effect, international competitiveness, and implications of infrastructure, environmental applications and evaluation summery. Then, it provides students with methods of calculating net present value, internal rate of return, payback period and average rate of return. The students apply these calculations on the field of hotels and tourism.
