Description

The course covers drugs used for bacterial infections, Urinary tract infections, otitis media and infectious bronchitis and sinusitis, community acquired pneumonia. Drugs used to manage meningitis, infections of endocarditis, osteomyelitis and diabetic foot infections, sepsis and septic shock, tuberculosis. Drugs for opportunistic infections in AIDS patients. drugs for Herpes virus infections and for viral hepatitis are also presented. The drugs are discussed relevant to their possible structure – activity relationships, contraindications, prodrug and bioactivation concepts, if any, their possible metabolism and elimination.
