Description

In this course the students are trained in the basic techniques of emergency interventions involving human casualties. Using human volunteers and standardized automated models, the students are provided with the necessary knowledge and skills to assess, handle, and properly refer different types of injuries whether due to accidents and natural disasters or due to idiosyncratic responses or adverse drug incidents. As well, this course offers training in the administration of drugs by injection.

Recognize the specific problems through various signs and symptoms a.3. Describe up-to-date guidelines for action in a certain emergency setting b. Intellectual Skills b.1. Apply the basic concepts of first aid in different settings b.2. Correlate the signs and symptoms to a specific problem b.3. Differentiate between emergency settings c. Professional and Practical Skills c.1. Practice different airway management tools and techniques c.2. Manage chocking in adults, children, and infants c.3. Practice adult and pediatric cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) d. General and Transferable Skills d.1. Improve knowledge about different types of emergencies d.2. Manage emergencies as first aiders before referral to other subspecialties or hospital.
