Description

This course provides the students with basic knowledge about Windows, secure internet surfing and introduces basic Microsoft Office software concepts and terminology. The course gives special emphasis on collaborate work with Microsoft Word, spread sheet applications of Microsoft Excel. The course also covers the basics in image manipulation and graphics applications and media compression for use in PowerPoint presentations.

Objectives

  • By the end of the course students will be able to: a. Knowledge and Understanding a.1. Use e-mail professionally. a.2. Perform collaborate work with word documents, track, compare and merge changes. a.3. Make PowerPoint presentations that include graphs, animations, audio, video and pictures with reasonable size. b. Intellectual Skills b.1. Present data in graphical manner using spread sheet software such as Microsoft Excel. b.2. Use database software such as Microsoft access to manage data such as patients’ records. b.3. Select appropriate secure digital methods to share documentation within the circle of authorized personal only. b.4. Make presentation using Microsoft PowerPoint to deliver a selected medical topic to his/her colleagues. b.5. Integrate Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook in OneNote and organize the notes. c. Professional and Practical Skills c.1. Execute suitable mathematical formulas in spread sheet software such as Microsoft Excel to perform different mathematical calculation on given data. c.2. Gather reliable evidence-based medical information using internet resources. c.3. Apply legal ways in data collection, use, disclosure and destruction of personal information. c.4. Convert different videos from one format to the other. c.5. Convert images from one format to the other. d. General and Transferable Skills d.1. Communicate electronically using professional software.
